Riding in Yorkshire
We pride ourselves in being able to cater for all levels of rider from the amateur novice rider to the Olympic level.
We strive always for excellence in our riding and in our teaching but at the same time recognise that sport is for enjoyment.
Riding Lessons & Instruction
Riding Lessons are available either on your own horse or on one of our horses.
Please be aware that for lessons on a school horse we have a weight limit of 175lbs (80kgs). We do not provide lessons for children under 13 years of age except if riding their own ponies.
The Yorkshire Riding Centre has four grades of qualified riding instructor
- (Chief Instructor (Jane & Christopher Bartle),
- Advanced Instructor, Intermediate Instructor and Assistant Instructor)
And instruction is also available in all aspects of stable management and teaching theory.
Lessons can be private, semi-private (2 people) or class (3 to 6 people). We do however require that clients wanting to join a class or semi private lesson come initially for a private assessment so that they can join the most suitable group.
Lessons are taught on an hourly basis: Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm (the last lesson starting at 7pm) and Saturday 9am to 4pm (the last lesson starting at 3pm). We do not generally teach on a Sunday although exceptions can sometimes be made.
