Yorkshire Riding clubs will organise loads of local equestrian competitions and events, working rallies and other activities, which usually take place at times to best suit their membership.
Inter-club competitions are always popular and members can get together to share transport and/or travel costs to more distant competitions. Yorkshire Riding clubs are definitely your best option if you really want to enjoy horse riding.

East Yorkshire Riding Club is one of 400 Affiliated British Riding clubs located throughout the UK. East Yorkshire Riding Club was formed over 40 years ago in 1965 following the set up of the British Riding Club movement by the British Horse Society in 1953. Regular flatwork and show jumping training sessions are held throughout the year at Willerby Hill Competition Yard and during the summer at Beverley. We also hold a range of clinics and demos.

The Ackworth Riding Club has been established since 1980 and has been affiliated to the BHS from that date. We are based in Ackworth, West Yorkshire with members from all over the region. Currently we have over 100 members, Juniors and Seniors alike. We run events throughout the year including member’s show jumping evenings, Show jumping and Dressage training, Dressage competitions and qualifying events for Area and National Championships.

The Mid-Yorks is a small, friendly club catering for junior and senior members of all abilities in the Leeds and West Yorkshire area. 2002 was our 40th anniversary. As well as ridden and instructional events, we try to offer our members a wide range of activities including social evenings and visits to major shows. The Club has a very successful junior section, catering for 5-16 year olds. The emphasis is on safety - and FUN! Our juniors chose their own name : MID-YORKS MOUNTIES.

The riding club was started in September 2002 by Vickie Pape and is affiliated with the B.H.S. Aimed at all levels of riding, whether a "Happy Hacker" or a Top Eventer, the club is based at the Richmond Equestrian Centre. Juniors and Seniors are invited to join. The Riding Club holds tuition with top instructors, as well as competitions in Show Jumping, Dressage, Cross Country, One Day Events, Combine Training, Showcross, Hunter Trials and Shows throughout the year. Social Events and Rural Rides are also held throughout the year.

The Area covers from North Yorkshire down to South and West Yorkshire and is one of the largest Areas incorporating 23 affiliated Riding Clubs. The Area is run by a panel of elected officials who are themselves club members from the Area. Area Meetings are held quarterly at The Bay Horse Inn, Goldsborough, Nr Harrogate. All welcome. Darrowby & District Riding Club came into existence in early 2003. Our aim is to help improve the riding skills of all our members through regular training and to give all members the opportunity to compete in at least one class at BHS Riding Club events.are based at Northallerton Equestrian Centre and run our training sessions and competitions there.

Northallerton Riding Club is one of the British Riding Clubs in the Area 4 region. The aim of the club is to promote good riding and horse care at all levels of activity.Membership consists of JUNIOR membership from 8 years old and SENIOR membership from 17 years old (ages taken as at 1 January). Organised tuition sessions with qualified instructors each week including Members' competition nights, Specialist courses, Open shows and competitions, Participation in Area competitions, INDOOR activities are held at - Northallerton Equestrian Centre. OUTDOOR activities are held at various locations in the local area

York and District riding club was founded in 1968. We are affiliated to the British Horse Society, and we are in Area 4. We have a club field on Corban Lane, near Wiggington (5 minutes from York ring road). There is a 20 x 40 m rubber surfaced arena and also a rotavated summer surface. There is plenty of parking (including some hard standing) and a club house with facilities. Lessons are run at the club on weekends throughout the year. Evening lessons are run there in the summer months and at Askham Bryan College (indoor school) in the winter months.

We are a small Riding Club affiliated to Area 4 of the BHS British Riding Clubs. We run regular training sessions, both flatwork and jumping, at Willerby Hill, the local competition yard, and organise informal competitions, outings and social events. We pride ourselves on being friendly and approachable and are happy to welcome new members from anywhere in the East Yorkshire area. Our resident trainer, Melanie Watson, is very well known as an expert trainer who specialises in helping people and horses with all kinds of problems.

Harewood Combined Training Group is an adult only Riding Club affiliated to British Riding Clubs and was founded in 1975. The name 'Combined Training' came from a competition involving both a dressage test and a round of show-jumping. We have therefore a wide spread of interests covering dressage, showjumping and cross-country riding. We currently have around 200 members drawn from North / West Yorkshire centred around the Harrogate area.
