Naburn Grange Riding Holiday Centre

Naburn Grange Riding Centre is a small family run BHS Approved Training Centre. It has been established on the same site since 1980 and is located in quiet picturesque countryside by the river and only 4 miles from the centre of York.

There is easy access to the beautiful city of York, via bus or car.

The centre caters for small groups and individuals, adults and children, from beginners to advanced, providing a personalised service, by friendly qualified staff.

Our Riding holidays can be tailored to suit your needs and requirements, whether you want to learn to ride, improve your riding level, increase your knowledge or just to have some horsey fun.

Holidays are available throughout the year, except Christmas and New Year. Short breaks are available mid-week and weekly stays run from Sunday to Saturday. There is no limit to the number of weeks you can stay.

The standard course includes riding and stable management tuition from Monday to Friday, with approximately four hours per day.

You can own a pony for the week, or change which horse you ride each time. You may like to be involved in a fun day, having a go at Western, side-saddle, bareback, or gymkhana riding.

We have many happy clients who return again year after year. We also have regular visitors from the USA, Japan, Germany, France, Switzerland and Great Britain.

Freindly, Proffesional, Quality

I travel to York from London for holidays as much so I can visit this yard as for any other reason. They were able to tailor a five course for me at a rate that I can't believe anyone else would beat. They were instantly welcoming and freindly, the atmosphere is that of a home from home yard. They have a good range of good school ponys and horses. Well schooled away from some of those naughtier habits school horses sometimes pickup, good news for the novice riders and more advanced riders alike, a testament also to the standard attained under them by their average student I should imagine. Many (all) proffesionally qualified staff. Most importantly for me they balance safety with a willingness to challenge their studens appropriately. I had a great time despite being there during one of Yorks harshest snow hits in a decade. I have been there three or four times now and can't wait to go again. There really are some very capable horses there.

Your centre sounds like what we all need to cheer us up after a hard winter of muddy fields and mucking out. A nice leisurely riding holiday where someone else does the hard work and I get to do the riding.
