Cotton King, The intermediate eventer and 2006 Burghley Young Event horse Champion wins the British Eventing Best British Bred Award.
Yorkshire breeder Hazel Bramley was presented with the award for the
best British bred six-year-old eventer at the recent British Breeders
awards dinner in London. Cotton King also won the award as a four-year-old.
Cotton King was placed third in the Young Horse Evaluations eventing final at Hartpury in August 2006 and won the 2006 Burghley Young Event Horse four year old section ridden by Angela Tucker. The good looking bay is another by Nicola Bagueleys advanced eventing stallion, Mill Law.
In the 2006 Burghley Young Event Horse four year old section Cotton King gained the highest jumping marks from judge Tim Fairburn and a high dressage mark to give him the lead going into the final phase of suitability and presence. After a rousing performance from all of the top ten horses Cotton King gained another nine marks to finish on a total of 87.5. Cotton King was also awarded the SHB(GB) prize as Mill Law is graded with the British sport horse stud book.
Mill Law is one of the most popular Sports Horse Stallions of modern times, due to his own impeccable competition record, gaining 152 BE and 145 BD points, and for the outstanding youngstock he is producing. He has sired an International Advanced Event horse as well as many county show champions and a BYEH champion and runner up.
Certainly a horse to watch in the future. Cotton King has been chosen for the prestigious EQUINE PATHWAY Scheme for potential 2012 horses.
