Bowhill Riding Stables is situated just outside Selkirk in the Scottish Borders. We are a small, friendly, professionally run yard set at the heart of the beautiful Bowhill Estate in Selkirk.

Our location means that we are ideally placed close to most Borders towns yet providing delightful, safe off road hacking over the entire Bowhill estate.

Our aim is to offer top quality care for our livery horses with a variety of options at competitive prices.

We have a good range of trekking horses to suit a range of abilities from the novice to experienced riders, as well as smaller lead rein ponies for younger riders.

We practice Classical Horsemanship with all of our horses, take horses in for schooling and offer lessons and longer clinics for owners who want to bring their horses to the yard.

Bowhill Stables is operated by the Kim Peters who has over 20 years experience with horses. Kim is a student and teacher of classical horsemanship and having competed in dressage and show jumping in the past she now dedicates her time to training horses and riders .

All the staff are highly experienced in equine care and are on hand to give friendly advice as required.

Riding lesson

been training with Kim for 7 years, thought I could ride until I met her and then realised I was not very good at all, have improved all my ground skills and ridden skills enormously over the years, still have lots to learn. Cannot thank Kim enough for her input and look forward to continuing my journey.:) x

I worked with Kim with my horse in hand and ridden. After an hour and a half we saw some great results. I went home armed with "homework" and several weeks later we are ready to travel back to Bowhill to demonstrate what we have done.

Hiya, we went on one of Bowhill's Pub Treks last weekend and it was so good.

Helped by the gorgeous weather we had a great ride, couple of nice canters and a good pub lunch halfway round while the horses enjoyed a bite of grass.

What more can you ask for!
